Perfectionism and Self-criticism Therapist

Loosen the Grip. Quiet the Inner Critic. Help Them Breathe Again.

In our therapy sessions, we will work on:

    •    Recognizing perfectionistic and black-and-white thinking

    •    Challenging unrealistic expectations and pressure

    •    Understanding the roots of self-criticism (family, school, culture, etc.)

    •    Developing a healthier relationship with mistakes

    •    Practicing self-compassion and balanced self-reflection

    •    Managing comparison, fear of judgment, and imposter syndrome

    •    Creating goals that reflect their values

    •    Cultivating confidence from within

Many teens appear driven, responsible, and high-achieving—but beneath the surface, they’re often battling intense pressure, anxiety, and an inner voice that tells them they’re never good enough. Perfectionism and self-criticism can lead to burnout, low self-esteem, emotional shutdown, and even depression or anxiety disorders.

As a licensed psychotherapist and former medical doctor, I help teens identify the beliefs and patterns that keep them stuck in cycles of unrealistic expectations and constant self-judgment. Therapy provides a space to redefine success, build self-compassion, and learn to strive without suffering.

Perfectionism doesn’t equal excellence—it often blocks it. Therapy helps teens trade fear-based pressure for authentic motivation and emotional freedom.  Let’s help them realize they don’t have to be perfect to be proud of who they are.

I provide therapy in Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Culver City, Mar Vista, Playa Del Rey, West Los Angeles, Pacific Palisades, Palms, and Santa Monica.
